This page will be updated as time allows,If there is anything you would like to know or see about you favorite country star let me know and I will do my best to put it here. ![]() Reba McEntire ---- Born on 3/28/54 on a ranch in Chockie, Oklahoma. Sang with older Brother Pake and younger sister Susie at rodeos as the singing McEntires while still a teenager. She also competed in rodeos as a horseback barrel rider. Discovered by Red Steagalll when she sang the National Anthem at the National Rodeo Finals in Oklahoma City in 1974. Married rodeo champion Charlie Battles in 1976; divorced in 1987. Married her manager Narvel Blackstock, in 1989. first worked on the Grand Ole Opry in 1977, became a member in 1985.Acted in the movie Tremors and several TV films. Seven members of her band plus her tour manager were killed in a plane crash on 3/16/91. CMA Awards; 1984,1985,1986 & 1987 Female Vocalist of the year; 1986 Entertainer of the year.Visit her web site here
Alabama ---- Group formed in Fort Payne, Alabama, in 1969 as Wildcountry. Consisted of Randy Owen (b: 12/13/49; guitar), Jeff Cook (b: 8/27/49; keyboards, fiddle), Teddy Gentry (b: 1/22/52; bass) and Bennet Vartanian (drums). Owen.Cook and Gentry are cousins. Worked local clubs in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina beginning in 1973. Jackie Owen (another cousin) replaced Vartanian briefly in 1076; Rick Scott then took over as drummer later that same year. Mark Herndon (b: 5/11/55) replaced Scott as drummer in 1979. Adopted the name Alabama in 1977. CMA Awards: 1981,1982 & 1983 Vocal Group of the year; 1982,1983 & 1984 Entertainer of the year. John Anderson ---- Born John David Anderson on 12/13/54 in Orlando and raised in Apopka, Florida. Played guitar from age seven. had own band, Living End, while still a teenager. Sang with sister Donna in the early '70s. Moved to Nashville in 1972, became staff writer for Gallico Music. First recorded for Ace of Hearts label in 1974. CMA Award; 1983 Horizon Award. Eddy Arnold ---- According to my source this man is the King of Country music with 145 songs, 29 of them number 1 from 1965 up to 1983. Born Richard Edward Arnold on 5/15/18 near Henderson, Tennessee. Became popular n Nashville's Grand Ole Opry as a singer with Pee Wee King (1940-43). Nicknamed " The Tennessee Plowboy" on all RCA recordings through 1954. Elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1966. CMA Award; 1967 Entertainer of the Year. As of yet I haven't found a web site on Eddy.
Bellamy Brothers ---- Duo from Darby, Florida: brothers Howard (b; 2/2/46; guitar) and David Bellamy (b: 9/16/50; guitar. keyboards). Made their professional debut in 1958. David played with the Accidents and wrote "Spiders and Snakes' for Jim Stafford. Both worked in the band Jericho from 1968-71.
Clint Black ---- Born Clint Richard Black on 2/4/62 in Long Branch, New Jersey; raised in Houston. Former construction worker.Married actress Lisa Hartman (TV'S Knot's Landing, Tabitha) on 10/20/91. Joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1991. CMA Awards: 1989 Horizon Award; 1990 Male Vocalist of the Year.
